1. What ImFiled is

ImFiled is a document preparation service. We help customers prepare the forms and supporting documents that go into a USCIS filing. We organize the package, run completeness checks, and hand the result back to the customer so they can file with USCIS. We do not practice law.

2. What ImFiled is not

ImFiled is not a law firm. We are not your immigration attorney. We are not affiliated with USCIS or any other government agency. We are not a substitute for legal counsel. If your situation needs a lawyer, you should hire one.

3. No legal advice

Nothing on this website, in any communication from ImFiled, or in anydocument we prepare for you constitutes legal advice. Reading our material, using our service, or speaking with anyone at ImFiled does not create an attorney-client relationship. We can describe how a form works; we cannot tell you whether you should file it, what your odds of success are, or how the law applies to your specific circumstances.

4. No guarantee of outcomes

ImFiled prepares documents. USCIS decides outcomes. We make no representation about the likelihood that any application will be approved, denied, or processed within any particular timeframe. Filing decisions, fees, processing times, and approval criteria are set by USCIS and are subject to change.

5. When you should consult an attorney

Many immigration filings are straightforward and do not need alawyer. Some do. You should strongly consider hiring a licensed immigration attorney before using ImFiled (or any document preparation service) if any of the following apply to you:

  • You have any history of immigration enforcement contact — a prior removal proceeding, a deportation order, a notice to appear, an order of supervision, or a denied prior application.
  • You have any criminal record, including arrests that did not lead to a conviction, traffic citations involving controlled substances, or anything currently sealed or expunged.
  • You have ever been refused a US visa, denied entry, or otherwise turned away at a port of entry.
  • You are unsure whether your prior marriages have been properly terminated, or whether prior immigration filings are still pending.
  • You believe you may have committed immigration fraud or made misrepresentations to USCIS, a US consulate, or another government agency — even unintentionally.
  • Your case involves asylum, withholding of removal, cancellation of removal, T or U visas, VAWA, or any other relief that depends on discretionary or merits-based legal arguments.
  • You have urgent timing concerns — an expiring status, a USCIS interview already scheduled, a pending court date, or detention.

This list is not exhaustive. If anything about your situation feels complicated, talk to a lawyer first. The cost of a one-hour consultation is small compared to the cost of an application denied because the underlying legal questions were never asked.

6. Pennsylvania governing law

ImFiled is operated under Pennsylvania law. Use of the service is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

7. USCIS non-affiliation
