Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective: June 8, 2026
ImFiledis self-help software. Your service fee gives you access to the software you use to assemble your own USCIS Form I-130 filing package from the information you enter — the completed forms, a relationship-specific document checklist, a submission-ready package, filing instructions, and an automated administrative completeness check. We want this policy to be plain and honest rather than a wall of conditions: there are exactly two situations in which we refund your money, and we tell you up front what falls outside them.
Cancelling before we start
If you change your mind before we begin processing your case — in practice, before you have submitted your completed intake for processing — you get a full refundof your service fee, no questions asked. Reach us through the contact information on our site with your order details and we’ll process it.
What we refund
Once preparation is under way the fee is earned, with one exception we stand behind: our own preparation errors. If USCIS rejects your I-130 filing because of a mistake wemade in preparing your documents — a form completed incorrectly, a required field we should have caught left blank, a package assembled out of the order USCIS expects — we will make it right. At your choice, we will either correct and reassemble the package at no additional service fee, or refund your service fee in full.
What we don’t refund
Our refund commitment is about the quality of our preparation work, not the outcome of your case. It does not apply to:
- Denials or rejections by USCIS on eligibility or legal grounds — we prepare documents, we do not decide who qualifies.
- Rejections caused by information you gave us that was inaccurate, incomplete, or untruthful.
- Rejections caused by supporting documents you did not provide, or that USCIS found unacceptable.
- Requests for Evidence, interview notices, or other normal steps in USCIS adjudication.
- Changes in USCIS policy, fees, regulations, or law that take effect after we delivered your package.
- USCIS processing times, delays, or backlogs.
- Cases where you chose not to file the package we prepared.
Government filing fees
Government filing fees are paid directly to USCIS, are collected by USCIS rather than by ImFiled, and are never refundable by us. If you have a question about a government fee, contact USCIS directly.
How to request a refund
Contact us through the information on our site with the subject “Refund Request.” Include your name, your order confirmation number, and — if you’re claiming a preparation error — a copy of the USCIS rejection notice and a short description of the mistake you believe we made. Submit a preparation-error claim within 60 daysof the date on your USCIS rejection notice. We will confirm we’ve received your request within 2 business days and review it within 10 business days. When a refund is approved, it goes back to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
What you’ll get back
A refund returns the ImFiledservice fee you paid us. It does not include government filing fees or other third-party costs, which we never collected. If you paid a rush surcharge, that surcharge is non-refundable once rush processing has begun — that is, once your package has entered processing under rush priority. We may, at our discretion, issue a partial refund in a situation these rules don’t squarely cover; doing so is a one-time courtesy and doesn’t change this policy.
Our commitment
We’d rather promise less and keep it than promise everything and argue later. If we made the mistake, we’ll fix it or refund you. If the issue is outside our work, we’ll tell you plainly and point you toward the right next step.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision, and the version in effect when you paid governs your order.
